Audi e-tron points to exciting green future

Audi is developing an electric battery-powered sports car called e-tron that can sprint from 0-62mph in 4.8 seconds and has a limited top speed of 124mph. It has ten times the torque of the V8 Audi R8! It has a range of 154 miles and the batteries can be charged within eight hours, although Audi is also developing a 'wireless' docking station.

Four motors – two each at the front and rear axles – drive the wheels, making the concept e-tron car a true quattro. This so-called torque vectoring allows for dazzling dynamics and an undreamed-of level of agility and precision when cornering.
