Ashes-to-Ashes Quattro at Watford Audi

This weekend we were lucky to have on display the famous bright red Audi Quattro from the television series Ashes to Ashes. This is the actual car driven by DCI Gene Hunt in his quest to rid 1980’s Manchester of the worst criminals whilst his assistant DI Alex Drake tries desperately to get herself back to present day. In the series the car is Hunt’s pride and joy but it certainly looked like the stunts had taken their toll on the car as it has now covered 160000 miles.

It was great to see a bit of Audi history in Watford and a few of our customers couldn’t resist asking for a test drive but no hand brake turns!

Luxury Car Boot Sale

Here at Watford Audi we’re getting in the Christmas spirit with a different take on the popular Sunday past time of “car booting”. But as with all things Audi, it’s not in a muddy field but in our showroom and the goods being offered are brand new and of a quality you would expect with our name. We have invited a selection of local businesses to use our boots and sell their luxury goods so there won’t be second hand lawn mower in sight!

Come down and browse through our showroom with some peaceful background music provided by a string quartet, have a little refreshment and maybe locate that difficult to find present.

Childrens Theatre Show

Thank you to all our customers and of course their children who joined us on Sunday to help launch the new Audi A5 Sportback at Watford Audi’s 2nd birthday party. Rather than the usual noise of engines and soft background music, the showroom was filled with sounds of laughter and shouts of “he’s behind you” as the children’s theatre company played out their version of Robin Hood.

The play was a great success and so many of our customers were surprised that we would aim at such a young audience but my answer to this is that they are the Audi drivers of the future!

In addition there was the sweet smell of popcorn and candy floss that added to the party atmosphere and kept the children glued to their seats for each one of the one hour performances. Lots of my team had there own children arrive to “see where daddy works” and enjoy the performance so thanks to those families also for supporting the event.

Now that we have cleared up the showroom it is back to business as usual with all our latest Audi models on display again.

Watford Audi celebrates it’s second birthday this month and it coincides with the launch of another fantastic new model, the A5 Sportback. We’ve got a bit of a party going on this Sunday with a children’s theatre company and a magician to help us celebrate both events so please find some time to come down and join us. My team will be here to welcome you and show you around the centre if you have some time and there will be a few nibbles and drinks to supplement your Sunday lunch. I can’t believe it’s 2 years since opening Watford Audi as we have been busy from day one and it feels like it’s been open for so much longer. We’re about the fifth largest Audi centre in the country and I’m sure I’ve got the fittest team as they have further to walk everyday just to get around the site. A few of us, including myself, were in the team last Sunday at the Herts 10km run so we needed the training!

This is my first blog so I’ll try and let you know a little more about myself and the team over the next few messages but in short this is my 10th year with the Audi brand so it’s pretty much in my blood now. I just can’t imagine driving anything else and the constant stream of new models and new technology makes me incredibly proud to have the four rings above the door.
