It is the world’s most expensive TV commercial space, and in the 60-second ad a group of vampire partygoers come face to face with Audi signature LEDs. At 5,500 Kelvin – the closest recreation of daylight available – the Audi LEDs are the clear winner, zapping the vampires and putting an end to the ubiquitous pop culture icon.

The advertisement also features a Twitter hashtag – #SoLongVampires – for fans to engage with after the game. Last year Audi became the first brand to feature a hashtag in its Super Bowl spot.

The commercial is now live on Audi’s YouTube channel, with millions of views within the first few days.

The A3 and R8 have both demonstrated their mass appeal across the car categories of fleet car drivers by winning a category at each end of the scale at the annual BusinessCar Awards. The awards are voted for by readers of BusinessCar Magazine and it’s website.

The A3 has won the Lower Medium Car title for the fourth time since 2007. BusinessCar Editor Paul Barker explained: ”Audi’s A3 has again proved itself the most desirable car in its sector, combining efficiency with badge appeal to create a very attractive proposition, both in running costs and offering a car company drivers will be pleased to drive.“

The Audi R8 may not be the first car you think of in terms of a Fleet car, but it’s victory in the Sporting Car category shows just how appealing the R8 is for top-end car company drivers.  Paul Barker said: ”At the other end of the scale, the R8 takes the Sporting Car prize, the one category where heart is allowed to rule head, proving Audi’s desirability can stretch into all price points.“

Iain Charmichael who is the Head of Fleet Sales at Audi UK said: “Winning two BusinessCar awards marks a strong start to the year for Audi, particularly because it shows the brand’s strength at opposite ends of the business car spectrum. They are a genuine affirmation of the calibre of our model range and its competitiveness at all levels in the fleet sector.”

In the survey of some 4,050 company board members and managers, the carmaker from Ingolstadt secured first place for its effective image development.

Dr Arno Balzer, the magazine’s editor-in-chief, said:  “Audi’s win shows that it pays to strive hard for better products.  The outstanding image of this company is not the result of trendy marketing, but rather of the hard work of engineers and designers.  Vorsprung durch Technik – this slogan is clearly the right mantra for Audi.”

“The overall win in this respected study honours all Audi employees who have dedicated themselves to the company over many years with virtually limitless enthusiasm,” Rupert Stadler, the Chairman of Audi, said.  And their efforts have paid off – from innovation, management quality and customer focus to financial stability and sustainability, Audi earned excellent marks in all of the evaluation criteria.

DEKRA is responsible for vehicle inspections and certification in Germany and to give the award it examines the quality and safety of some 15 million vehicles in eight different categories. It then creates a specific fault profile in three mileage classes for each vehicle type, and the model with the best average from all three classes is named ‘Best of All Classes’.

The award was launched in 2008, and Audi has won every time with the A6 topping the list in each of the past three years. This time however it was third.

Other winners were the TT Coupe in the best Coupe category and the TT Roadster in the Best Convertible Category.

The concept is painted in the colour developed specially for it – Energy Red – which contains golden pearlescent particles.  Its add-on body parts are finished in matt grey quartz-based paint, and underline the vehicle’s robust and rugged character.

The Audi Q3 Vail will combine striking, harder-edged styling and features a powerful 2.5-litre TFSI petrol engine linked to a seven-speed S tronic transmission delivers 314PS and 400Nm, giving a 5.5-second 0-62mph time and a 163mph top speed. The Audi Q3 Vail accelerates from zero to 62mph in 5.5 seconds and continues to a top speed of 163mph.

Striking styling includes:

• Flared arches
• Running boards and winter sports-specific roof rails
• The area around the windows is enhanced by eye-catching elements in aluminium and high-gloss black
• The Audi Q3 Vail is fitted with 255/45 section off-road tyres and 20-inch five-arm wheels whose visible edges have a high-gloss finish which mirrors the single-frame grille.

Themed interior features includes:

• A fittingly sporty black, grey and red colour scheme
• The headlining is made from titanium grey Alcantara; large parts of the interior, including the carpet, are black. The black, ribbed floor mats are edged with narrow strips of red velvet-finish leather
• The entire instrument panel in the themed vehicle is trimmed in black Fine Nappa leather
• The selector lever features a high-gloss black ring and an aluminium badge with a milled “Q3 Vail” signature
• The side wall of the boot houses a charging station. This can be used for storing flashlights and charging them inductively at the same time
• The same technology is used for the Thermos bottle. It is located in the cup holder between the front seats and is able to chill or warm drinks
• One attractive extra is that, in addition to LED lighting, the flashlights incorporate an infra-red heating element that can be used for warming hands or ski boots
• Another intelligent solution in the themed vehicle is the load floor mat, which has integrated heated seat cushions.
