It is the world’s most expensive TV commercial space, and in the 60-second ad a group of vampire partygoers come face to face with Audi signature LEDs. At 5,500 Kelvin – the closest recreation of daylight available – the Audi LEDs are the clear winner, zapping the vampires and putting an end to the ubiquitous pop culture icon.

The advertisement also features a Twitter hashtag – #SoLongVampires – for fans to engage with after the game. Last year Audi became the first brand to feature a hashtag in its Super Bowl spot.

The commercial is now live on Audi’s YouTube channel, with millions of views within the first few days.

The A3 and R8 have both demonstrated their mass appeal across the car categories of fleet car drivers by winning a category at each end of the scale at the annual BusinessCar Awards. The awards are voted for by readers of BusinessCar Magazine and it’s website.

The A3 has won the Lower Medium Car title for the fourth time since 2007. BusinessCar Editor Paul Barker explained: ”Audi’s A3 has again proved itself the most desirable car in its sector, combining efficiency with badge appeal to create a very attractive proposition, both in running costs and offering a car company drivers will be pleased to drive.“

The Audi R8 may not be the first car you think of in terms of a Fleet car, but it’s victory in the Sporting Car category shows just how appealing the R8 is for top-end car company drivers.  Paul Barker said: ”At the other end of the scale, the R8 takes the Sporting Car prize, the one category where heart is allowed to rule head, proving Audi’s desirability can stretch into all price points.“

All the stars of Real Madrid proved their talent off of the football field during the car handover as Cristiano Ronaldo, Cesc Fabregas, Mesut Özil and their team mates went racing on a kart track in Madrid. The winner was midfielder Esteban Granero.

The Audi Q3, Audi A1 and Audi A5 Sportback picked up three of the most coveted awards of the year as they finished top of their classes.

Five other Audi models finished in second place in their categories, along with four third-place finishes, while Audi was also honored for the best advertisement.

The 20 cars reached the final destination in Shenzhen near Hong Kong after covering the 5,700-kilometer route. During the tour’s 16 stages the roughly 160 participants experienced the dependability of the Audi Q3 in every situation, from the country’s dynamic metropolitan centers to unpaved roads in spectacular mountain landscapes.

The Trans China Tour displayed the all-round qualities of the new Audi Q3 SUV. With its compact dimensions, high dynamics and clarity of design, the Audi Q3 was the ideal vehicle for the busy traffic on the streets of the major Chinese cities. At the same time, it also operated excellently providing superb comfort over long distances, when traveling on the new and extremely modern Chinese highways.

The Audi Q3 also showed its robust character and its quattro permanent four-wheel drive in off-road conditions, over smaller roads and pathways in the impressive rural regions and mountain ranges.

Despite unfamiliar surroundings there were no serious problems for the Q3 in keeping on the right path: the MMI navigation system knows about three million kilometers of China’s roads, and even small streets are digitized. All of the navigation systems offered by Audi are extensively adapted to meet the requirements of the region in which they are used.

The Urban Concept is not based on any previous model – its development is based on strict principles of lightweight construction, efficiency and reduction.

It combines elements of a racing car, a fun car and an urban car in one radical new concept. The wheels are free-standing, and their surrounding protective plates feature blinking strips of LED lights. On board there is room for two people, and the driver can adjust the steering wheel and pedals to his or her body measurements. Characteristic features of the Spyder include a low, continuous window area and doors that open diagonally to the top.

The new version of Audi’s flagship model is highly fuel-efficient, offering the power of a six-cylinder model with the economy of a four-cylinder version. It combines a modified 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine with an electric motor for zero emissions driving and over 44mpg.

The A8 hybrid can drive at up to 62mph on purely electric power and has a range of up to 1.86 miles at a constant 37mph. This gives the driver a choice of three modes. The ‘EV’ setting gives priority to the electric drive, while the ‘D’ option controls both the engine and the electric motor, while the ‘S’ mode and the tiptronic gate place the emphasis on optimal acceleration.

In visual terms, the hybrid is distinguishable by subtle details such as:

• 18-inch or optional 19-inch ten spoke alloy wheels which resemble turbine blades
• Hybrid badges
• Exclusive Arctic Silver paint finish
• Metallic paint standard
• Three-zone automatic air conditioning
• LED headlights
• BOSE sound system

Thanks to the brand’s ultra-lightweight construction expertise, the Audi A8 hybrid will be one of the lightest saloons in its category. Its ASF (Audi Space Frame) body is made almost entirely of aluminium, with ultra-high-strength steel used only for the B pillars to optimise rigidity. Weighing just 231kgs, it is roughly 40% lighter than a comparable steel construction.

Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH) the London-based advertising agency recognised its potential as a means of emphasizing German quality and engineering integrity.
