Audi TT Roadster: made for fun at the wheel

Sheer sportiness, high power reserves plus a stirring driving experience – the Audi TT Roadster is one of Audi’s most iconic cars.  But beneath the charismatic design lies an array of advanced technology.

Available with a choice of petrol and diesel engines, and quattro permanent all-wheel-drive. In classic Audi tradition, the TT Roadster has an automatic fabric hood, just one of the many weight-saving features that enhance sporty driving.  It opens or closes in seconds, and can be operated on the move.  A mesh wind deflector is fitted as standard to reduce the airflow in the cabin, while an electrically-powered spoiler automatically increases the downforce at high speeds.

A series of restraint systems assures maximum passive safety.  In the event of a side impact, aluminium beams and cushioning in the doors are called into action along with the head and side airbags integrated into the seat backs.  Two-stage full-size airbags and the Audi backguard system are on hand to limit the consequences of a collision from the front or rear.

In addition to a new 2.0-litre Turbo FSI petrol engine which improves fuel economy by up to 14%, changes for 2011 include an enhanced exterior design, new colours inside and out, xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights now standard for S line versions, and new interior trim elements.

For the more sport-oriented Audi enthusiast, the Sport button (fitted as standard to the TT RS since launch) is now available as an option across the range.  It allows the driver to alter the throttle pedal response, the degree of servo boost and the engine note.
