Once an Italian word for 'four' has now become synonymous with Audis all-wheel-drive system 'quattro'. While testing new vehicles in Finland in 1977, Audi's chief engineer, Jorg Bensinger, first created the Audi quattro. The quattro was launched at the geneva motor show in 1980 - stunning the press and public on its debut. Today you can experience quattro across the range from the Audi A3 to the super car - the R8.
